15/08/08 - New Shipbuilding Procurement Manager

The Air Warfare Destroyer Alliance now has a new Shipbuilding Procurement Manager. Doug Munsey has taken over from Chris Teel, who has returned to the US.

All enquiries that would have gone to Chris can now be directed to Doug, who has assumed Chris’ mobile number, desk number, and responsibilities.

01/08/08 - AWD Alliance e-procurement system launched

The AWD Alliance has launched it's e-procurement system, AWD Sourcing (Ariba). Ariba is a safe and secure environment whereby only invited personnel can gain access and participate in a given procurement.

Suppliers will be expected to provide an electronic submittal of their tenders via Ariba.

30/07/08 - Preliminary Master Equipment List Released

As a result of various meeting, conferences, and individual requests, the AWD Alliance Shipbuilding Team is please to provide the AWD HOBART Class Preliminary Master Equipment List (MEL) for the Ship Platform.

This document reflects details of the major equipments and current supplier to the F100 of these equipments. As time progresses, and the further details are known, the AWD HOBART Class MEL will be updated and revised accordingly.

This document is for reference and guidance use only.

20/05/08 - Block Tender evaluation

The Block Tender evaluation process is active and progressing on schedule. All involved respondents have been informed of progress and future RFT schedules. Due to probity requirements this information will not be shared on our Program website. 

05/05/2008 – Australian Trade Delegation, Madrid and North American Suppliers Conference, Boston

The AWD Alliance, the Commonwealth of Australia, Defence Materiel Organisation, Defence Export Unit, ASC Shipbuilding, and Raytheon Australia would like to extend our thanks to all the companies who participated in the initial Australian Defence Industry Trade Delegation trip to Madrid Spain on 10 - 11 April 2008.

Thanks also to the North American companies who attended the AWD North American Suppliers Conference in Boston, Massachusetts on 17 April 2008.
