REGISTRATION OF INTEREST FOR CONSTRUCTION OF SHIP BLOCKS (MODULES) FOR THE AIR WARFARE DESTROYER (AWD) PROGRAM

The AWD Alliance is seeking Registration of Interest (ROI) from suitably capable and interested parties to attend a Bidders Conference for the construction of ship blocks (modules) to support the construction phase of the Air Warfare Destroyer Program.

Interested companies or consortia should have the capability to construct multiple, large, complex ship blocks to an advanced level of completeness within a workshop environment, where upon completion, it is anticipated that the blocks will be transported to a wharf to enable transportation by ship to Osborne in Adelaide. Block sizes are typically 15m x 12m x 9m and weighing approximately 200 tonnes. Work packages are expected to range between 20 – 40 blocks for the three Ship program, requiring between 1.6 million – 3.2 million hours for completion of all blocks. It is expected commencement of fabrication will be in the third quarter of 2009, with final deliveries expected in late 2014.

All companies are required to sign a ’Phase 3 Confidentiality Deed Poll’ prior to attending the Conference.

The Bidders Conference will be conducted from 1230 to 1700 hours on Thursday, 24th January 2008 in the Adelaide CBD. An attendance limit of four people per organisation shall apply.

Registrations have now closed. Thank you for your interest.
