The Air Warfare Destroyer Alliance, tasked with delivering three air warfare destroyers (AWDs) to the RAN, has let contracts or identified preferred suppliers for the delivery of equipment worth more than $1 billion dollars.
11/08/2008 - SONAR SUPPLIER FOR AWD PROJECT SELECTED
The AWD Alliance has selected Ultra Electronics as the preferred supplier for the Undersea Warfare Sonar System for the Royal Australian Navy’s three air warfare destroyers (AWDs).
12/05/2008 - AWD Models delivered in formal handover
On May 12 2008 the AWD Alliance met a small but significant milestone. Attachment five to the AWD Alliance Based Target Incentive Agreement (ABTIA) calls for three scale models of the Hobart Class Air Warfare Destroyers. Whilst other contract deliverables have already been made, these are the first physical objects to be delivered to the client.
02/05/2008 - AWD project progresses through reviews
The AWD project as a whole is subject to a series of regular reviews to ensure it is on track the first of which have already taken place.
17/12/2007 - Registration of Interest for Construction of Ship Blocks (Modules) for the Air Warfare Destroyer (AWD) Program
The AWD Alliance is seeking Registration of Interest (ROI) from suitably capable and interested parties to attend a Bidders Conference for the construction of ship blocks (modules) to support the construction phase of the Air Warfare Destroyer Program
05/11/2007 - AWD Roadshow 2007 Completed Successfully
The Air Warfare Destroyer Alliance’s recent national Roadshow has been completed successfully, with over 1300 registrations. The Alliance Team visited Canberra, Cairns, Newcastle, Wollongong, Sydney, Launceston, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth.
04/10/2007 - Air Warfare Destroyer Build Phase Commences
The Air Warfare Destroyer (AWD) Alliance is pleased to announce another milestone in the development of the AWD Program.
The AWD Alliance (the Defence Materiel Organisation, ASC and Raytheon Australia) have now signed the Build Phase contract which commits the Alliance Participants to work together as an integrated team to deliver the Royal Australian Navy's (RAN) next generation HOBART Class AWDs.
