The DMO AWD Program Office retains overall responsibility for the project management and delivery of the three Air Warfare Destroyers. The DMO, through the Minister for Defence, is responsible to the people of Australia to ensure that the future AWDs are delivered to the RAN on time, on budget and to the required capability. The DMO is committed to delivering the most capable ship for the future security needs of the nation.

As an integrated member of the AWD Alliance, the DMO will work alongside ASC and Raytheon Australia staff in the AWD Systems Centre across a range of technical, financial and project management areas throughout the life of the program. The DMO will work closely with Defence and Industry stakeholders to ensure maximum practical Australian Industry Involvement in the construction and delivery of the three ships.
